  • Every person entering the office is expected to wear a face covering and will be asked to sanitize their hands immediately upon entry.
  • A COVID-19 questionnaire will be reviewed with you.

Clear plastic screens (sneeze guards) have been installed at the front desk to minimize exposure to airborne pathogens. Air exchange devices and new suction systems have been obtained and are being used to ensure the safety of patients and team.

Our doctors and staff will be wearing all of the recommended personal protective equipment (PPE).

Thank you for being part of our family dental practice. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming you back.

Buffalo, NY dentist discusses the dental implant procedure

Dental implant procedure from Dr. Gorden Kent in Buffalo NY

If you are missing teeth, it’s important to find a solution. Without a full set of teeth, your oral health could be in jeopardy. Dental implants have become popular for restoring missing teeth because they preserve bone integrity and gum health. If you’ve lost teeth, you can contact Smile Center in Buffalo, NY to learn more about dental implants.

What are dental implants?

Dental implants are a permanent solution to missing teeth. The artificial tooth roots are placed into the jawbone and left to heal during a period known as osseointegration. This period of three to six months is crucial, because it allows the bone to fuse with the implant for optimal support. Patients will be fitted with temporary restorations during this time.

Once the healing process is completed, an abutment will be attached to the implant, followed by a restoration such as a crown or denture.

Dental implants are not one-size fits all

When it comes to choosing dental implants, it’s important to find a provider who is trained and experienced. Dr. Kent has spent decades providing dental implants and is a Fellow of the American Society of Osseointegration, an implant academy.

Dental implants can be used in a variety of situations, including:

  • With a dental crown to replace a single missing tooth
  • With a dental bridge to replace several missing teeth
  • With a denture to replace an entire arch of teeth

Why choose dental implants?

Dental implants give patients full functionality of the teeth along with restoring the beauty of the smile. Unlike traditional dentures, dental implants become part of your mouth for a natural look and feel.

If you are missing teeth, it’s important to seek treatment promptly to prevent further damage to the mouth. Call us today at 716-634-4090 to schedule a consultation for dental implants.
