We are pleased to announce that we are now permitted to provide all dental procedures and services. Our communities have been through a lot over the last few months. Smile Center is committed to the safety of our patients and our team. We will do our best to accommodate your scheduling needs. We thank you for your understanding during this changing time.

We follow recommendations and guidelines made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). This allows us to make sure that our infection control procedures are up-to-date and enables us to provide the safest environment for our patients and our team.

Smile Center has implemented additional safety precautions to help protect our patients and staff. We will be scheduling appointments in a manner that promotes social distancing and allows for adequate time for us to disinfect all areas of use in between appointments.

Upon arrival at our office,
  • Call us before entering the building to let us know you have arrived. We will call or text you once the office is ready for you to enter.
  • We ask that patients enter the office unaccompanied.
  • A member of our team will meet you at the door to take your temperature with a contactless thermometer.
  • Every person entering the office is expected to wear a face covering and will be asked to sanitize their hands immediately upon entry.
  • A COVID-19 questionnaire will be reviewed with you.

Clear plastic screens (sneeze guards) have been installed at the front desk to minimize exposure to airborne pathogens. Air exchange devices and new suction systems have been obtained and are being used to ensure the safety of patients and team.

Our doctors and staff will be wearing all of the recommended personal protective equipment (PPE).

Thank you for being part of our family dental practice. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming you back.

Sedation dentistry is a cost effective solution to anxiety for our Buffalo NY patients

Male dentist talking to female patient and discussing teeth treatment at dental clinic office

It may seem as though there is one goal in dentistry: to improve oral health. While this is one of the cornerstones to good dental care, the team at Smile Center believes there is more to excellent service than simply treating a set of teeth.

One of our mottos is “we cater to cowards.” This is meant in the most compassionate way. So many people fear seeing the dentist, and then fear feeling embarrassed that they have avoided care for a long time. We have met men and women who had not seen the dentist for decades due to fear of pain, a strong gag reflex, fear of the unknown, fear of judgment, and the list goes on and on. What we have to say to patients with dental anxiety is “We have you covered! You are not alone and you do not have to live in pain and embarrassment any longer.”

Addressing fear with sedation dentistry

We have found that the use of proper sedative medication greatly reduces the cost of dental anxiety. In our Buffalo, NY dental center, we offer patients options that work for their budget as well as the severity of their anxiety. Treatment is tailored to individual needs here at Smile Center, including which form of sedation is most appropriate for various procedures.

Options for sedation in our office include:

  • Laughing gas inhalation sedation, also known as laughing gas
  • Enteral sedation, or oral conscious sedation, in which sedative medication is ingested prior to treatment
  • IV sedation overseen by a licensed, experienced professional

Offering solutions that work

Incorporating sedation into dental treatment may seem a costly choice. Contrary to perception, sedation dentistry can be extremely cost-effective. In some cases, insurance may extend benefits for sedation. When this is not the case, however, our in-office plan may provide a way for you to sail through your treatments with proper sedation to enhance your comfort and peace of mind.

Talk with us about sedation during your visit with the friendly Smile Center team.
